Source Unknown; 10 Aug 1950 Transient Killed By Freight Train Clarence Adolph Hyde, tentatively listed as a transient fell from an Espee freight train on Monday night and was instantly killed. As near as the accident can be reconstructed, the man fell off and was run over by a south bound train. The crew of train No. 57 reported the tragedy to Sgt. Glen Roberts upon arrival in Mojave, who directed the removal of the body from the railroad right- of-way pending arrival of the Kern County Coroner.
