Longtime Fremont resident passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2004, at age 68. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Aletia Iosefa in 2002. Loving father and father-in-law to Crissy and Tim McMahon of Elk Grove, Lupe and Terry Torsky of Magnolia, Delaware, Maura and Robert Iosefa- Vilhaure of Chico, Joe and John Iosefa both of Fremont. Caring grandfather to Shawn, Josh and Noah McMahon, Andrew, Rebecca, T.J., Kristen and Katie Torsky, Tina and Shane Pittman. Cherished brother to Eseta Garcia of Fremont, Miliama Tuitasi and Reupena Amituanai Iosefa both of Samoa. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Joe was born on May 16, 1936 in American Samoa. He was a United States Navy veteran who served for 20 years. He worked in the civil service for military hospitals. Was a member of the Knights of Columbus #2692 Council at Holy Spirit. Attended his grandchildren's sporting events. An active member of St. Vincent De Paul society of Oakland and Fremont. Former Scout Master for troop #154, enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing and was an avid 49er fan. Visitation Tuesday, November 23, 2004, 4 - 8 p.m. at Fremont Chapel of the Roses, 1940 Peralta Blvd., Fremont. Funeral service Wednesday, November 24, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the mortuary.
