Fish, died very suddenly at her home at Coxs Bar, two miles and a half below Downieville on Monday morning. She had been troubled with a sore throat for several days, but he illness was not thought of sufficient severity to warrant calling a physician. On the morning of her death about 4 oclock, she began to grow so much worse that Dr. Jump was sent for, but when he arrived she was passed all help and died in a short time, from inflammation and swelling of the wind pipe. The funeral took place on Wednesday from the M. E. Church, of this place, and was largely attended notwithstanding the violent storm. Mrs. Johnson was a native of Faroe Islands, and was a lady very much beloved by all who knew her. Her age was 49 years.
