Leonard "Swede" Johnson passed away on December 7, 2000 at his home in California 
City, CA after a long illness. Leonard was born on December 8, 1929 in Blossburg, PA. He 
joined the Air force in 1950 and after serving 20 years, retired in November 1970. He was 
later employed with Civil Service in the PME Lab at Edwards AFB and retired in 1987. 
Leonard was a 21 -year of American Legion Post 476. Left to mourn Leonard are his wife of 
45 years, Arlene Johnson, his four children; Debbie Scheuring of Stockton, CA, Craig 
Johnson of Dayton NV, Kent Johnson and Kim Robertson of California City, CA, four 
grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, three sisters, two brothers and many nieces and 
nephews. Leonard was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Leonard will be missed by all. Private family services are being held at California City 
Cemetery. Arrangements by Stickel Mortuary in Mojave, CA.
