Clara M. Kurant laid to rest at age 87
DOWNEY-A Funeral Mass was celebrated Wednesday, Nov. 4, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic 
Church for Clara M. Kurant, a resident of Downey for three months, and a former 53 year resident of 
Huntington Park, who died at Downey Community Hospital Nov. 1. 
She was 87, born June 30, 1911 in Britton, South Dakota, and was a former employee for the County 
of Los Angeles for 15 years. 
Survivors include her sisters, Irene Maness of Paramount, Lucille Wanken of Rancho Santa Marguerita; 
Dorothy Brookie of Oakland and Ruth Angerhofer of San Diego; brothers Philip Millard of Missouri and 
Raymond Millard of Whittier; and numerous nieces and nephews. 
The Rev. Father John Moloney officiated. Burial followed in the family plot in Britton Cemetery in Britton, 
South Dakota. Arrangements were by the Downey Zrelak Family Mortuary.
