(Lou Gherigs Disease). Carl was born on October 5, 1934. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jean. He is the loving father of 5 beautiful children, Carla, Curk and Dorothy, Mike and Louise, Phyllis and Dave and Matt and Cindy. A devoted grandfather to Penny, Jason, Derick and Kelli, Clint and Shanon, Eric, Jessica, Nicholas and Amanda. And a cherished great grandfather to Dylan, Paige, Haley, Devin, Shelby and Michael. He also leaves sisters, Betty and Iva and brothers, Thomas and Wayne and Natalie, and in-laws that were as close as the real thing Duane and Francie, Bruce and Donna, Norma, Kenny and Bernice, Richard and Vickie, Rhonda and Rodger, Shanda and Charles and many special nieces and nephews. He'll be remembered in his Country Western ways, his cowboy boots and the belt buckle on the side, his cherished dream car the '56 T-Bird. He retired from Operating Engineers Local #3 as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, a passion that he has since the age of 18, which he passed down to two sons and one grandson. He was affiliated with Alameda Lodge #67 of Fremont, Scottish Rite and Shriners. Carl was a very strong man but yet so gentle. He loved and respected his wife, they traveled the world together and made a home for their children. This is a man that didn't ever need to say much, but when he did, every ear in the room was listening. Carl was compassionate and stubborn, he had the hands of a bear but a heart of gold. May we always remember that Carl may be gone from this earth but never from our hearts. His love of life is still being passed on through the generations. Please help us to celebrate his life and accomplishments on Thursday, October 2, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at Chapel of the Roses Mortuary, 1940 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA. Please, for medical reasons, no perfume or cologne. Fremont Chapel of the Roses 510-797-1900
