Former music aide Thelma Gladys Lee services held
DOWNEY-Funeral services for Thelma Gladys Lee, a Downey resident for 15 years and a former nursing aide 
for various convalescent hospitals, were held Dec. 2 at the Miller-Mies Mortuary Chapel. 
She was 89, born in Bunker, Missouri, and died Nov. 28 at Downey Community Hospital. 
She was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church, was active in church ladies groups, taught Sunday School, and 
was a volunteer in the church nursery. 
Survivors include her daughters, Imogene Sims of Downey, Marie Summers of Yorba Linda; a son, Jesse Lee of 
Hesperia; a sister, Retha Estep of Missouri; a brother, Buell Mason of Missouri; 12 grandchildren, 39 great-
grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. 
The Rev. Billy Duckworth officiated. Burial followed at Inglewood Park Cemetery. Arrangements were by the 
Miller-Mies Mortuary of Downey.
