Truck Kills Transient 
I Clarence J. Leird, 65, a transient was instantly killed when he ran in front of an 
empty cement truck at the Santa Fe crossing here in Mojave last Thursday night at 
approximately 10 p.m. Driver of the truck, Carlos Madero of Los Angeles, did not see 
the man ir time to avoid the accident.
Graveside services will be held today (Thursday) at the Mojave cemetery with the 
Rev. J. L. Barber, Baptist minister, officiating. O'Donnell Funeral Home was in 
charge of arrangements.
Leird is survived by a sister, Mrs. Ella Smith, 210 Broadway, Eufalla, Oklahoma.
