Source Unknown; Date Unknown Oct. 6, 1918 � Oct. 15, 2004 A memorial funeral service was held on Sunday, Oct. 17, at the Mountain Bible Church for Stanley Max Lind, 86, who passed away on Oct. 15 in Tehachapi. Stan was born on Oct. 6, 1918, in Lexington, Neb., to Chester and Leola Lind. He came to California in 1947 after his discharge from the United States Army where he served as a First Lieutenant in the Air Corps during World War II. Stan was a B-17 pilot, stationed in North Africa. Part of his training was at Minter Field and he always wanted to return to Bakersfield. Stan owned a Texaco Station at Oleander and Brundage in Bakersfield for a number of years. He was a former member of the Y's Men and Toastmasters. Stan met his wife of 39 years, Jean Clark, in Tehachapi where they were married on Oct. 8, 1965. Stan retired from Cal Portland Cement Company after a 24-year career. He was an active member of Mountain Bible Church. Stan was a gentle man whose goal in life was to serve his Lord. Dr. Marvin Slifer officiated at the service.
