All persons donating to this site retain the rights to their own work. Source Unknown; 28 Mar 1957 S. R. Malloch Found Dead At Residence Mr. Seymour Robert Malloch 64, died at 12:30 a. m. Wednesday morning in his home, 2 miles west of Rosamond on Willow Springs Road from a gunshot, apparently self inflicted, according to the Mojave Sheriff's Substation. Sgt. Dave King and deputy Hazlett answered the call and summoned deputy coroner Ross Jones. After an investigation, Jones ordered the body removed to the O'Donnell Funeral Home in Mojave where an inquest will be held today, Thursday at 10:00 a.m. . Mr. Malloch was employed by the Southern Pacjfic Railroad in Mojave as a clerk in the yard office. He first worked for the S.P. Co. in 1920 as a brakeman; resigning in June 1921. He returned in October 1942 and left in March of 1943. He came to Mojave as a machinist in 1944 and worked in the roundhouse until it closed after which he transferred to the clerks roster. He had worked on his regular clerk job on Tuesday of this week, according to Mr. Karl Kruger, agent. He is survived by his wife, Daisy Ruth, 2 sons, Robert S., attending U.C.L.A.; Frank D., of Allehamy, California; a brother Frank R. of Van Nuys, and two sisters, Mrs. Paul Dwight and Mrs. Princy Baldwin of San Pedro. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 30 at 11 a.m. in the O'Donnell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jack Eubanks officiating. Interment will be in the Mojave Cemetery.
