Daily Press, Hesperia Star & Desert Dispatch; 2/14/2008 Morgan Matthew Malocco, 50, passed away Feb. 2, 2008, in a Rhino off-road accident in the Mohave Wash in Lake Havasu, Ariz. He was born Aug. 26, 1957, in Lynwood. Morgan grew up riding motorcycles; he lived to ride and loved it. He started racing motorcycles when he was a young man in 1971. He was in various motorcycle clubs from District 37, Score International, Honda of Hollywood and Checkers Racing. American Honda hired him to race for them in the early 1980s for the Score International off-road racing, in which he did quite well. Morgan was very well respected, and helped a lot of racers when their bikes and race cars broke down. He would help anyone. Morgan had been a Phelan resident since 1982, and was a very fun-loving, spontaneous guy. He also was the director for BP Motorsports Off-Shore Endurance racing for Personal Watercraft and eventually raced off-road cars. Morgan worked for Northrop Aircraft in El Segundo, where he assembled the F-15 fighter jet, then later went into iron work and finished his career as a good mechanic. Morgan is survived by his son Jasen Malocco; daughter Stephanie Malocco; grandson Evan Malocco, all from Hesperia; father, Erwin Malocco, of Phelan; and his sister Shelly Guthrie and niece Amber Norman, both of Mohave Valley, Ariz. A celebration of life will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday at 11042 White Fox Trail, Oak Hills. Come and go as you please. In lieu of flowers, a trust has been set up for his children at Bank of America, under Amber M. Norman for the Morgan Malocco Fund, Account #457006585648.
