All persons donating to this site retain the rights to their own work. Mojave Desert News; May 28, 1998 William R. Marlowe, 33-year Cal City resident remembered CALIFORNIA CITY � William R. Marlowe passed away on May 16 after 33 years in California City. Marlowe died in Lancaster. He is survived by his children, William Marlowe, Jr., Doris Ann Birch and Dorothy L. Miller; eight grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Dorothy Ann Marlowe. Marlowe worked for the Texas-New Mexico Pipe Line Co. from 1937 to 1946 as a supervisor, and he was instrumental in the project Texas- Mexico pipe line. He came to California in 1956 and moved to California City in 1965. He worked in real estate development for 15 years and was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Boron.
