Hertha Marquardt mourned here by many
DOWNEY-Hertha Fredericka Marquardt, a former 25-year resident of Downey and a 20-year former 
employee of the the Los Angeles office of the Fidelity & Deposit Co. of Maryland, died Sunday, July 29, 
in the Devonshire Care Center in Hemet. 
She was 90, born April 1, 1911 in Cleveland, Ohio. 
She was a longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star. 
Survivors include her daughter, Lois Hoven of Hemet; a son, Henry Marquardt of Payson, Arizona; eight 
grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. 
Services were held Sunday, Aug. 5, at 3 p.m. at the Masonic Family Center in Hemet. Cremation was by 
the Cremation Society of Riverside County, with final resting place the Brooklyn Heights Cemetery in 
Cleveland, Ohio.
