Raymond Wolfe Maxwell Posted: 03/23/2010 05:10:33 PM PDT Raymond Wolfe Maxwell, age 83, died peacefully at his home of natural causes on Sunday evening, March 14, 2010. He was born January 17, 1927, in Roscoe (now Sun Valley), California, to Richard L. Maxwell and Stella Ethel White. He was an Eagle Scout, served in the Navy during World War II, and served as a missionary for three years in Brazil for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1947 to 1950. Upon his return he was married to Thelma Losee Johnson on February 14, 1951, in Mesa, Arizona, and they moved to San Bernardino in 1952. He taught school for the San Bernardino Unified School District for 33 years. They moved to Redlands in 2004. He was preceded in death by his wife, his daughter Donna Wilkinson, and his brother, Harry Maxwell. He is survived by five daughters: Deena (Pete) Ortiz of Rancho Cucamonga; Deborah (Randy) Olsen of Highland, Utah; Diana Dahlin of Highland, Utah; Doris (Ryan) Monson of Flagstaff, Arizona; Darah (Shawn) Hunsaker of Sandy, Utah. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and his two sisters, Mary (Leroy) Atkins and Ruth Moulton. Visitation will be Tuesday evening, March 23, 2010, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Emmerson-Bartlett Memorial Chapel, 703 Brookside Avenue, Redlands, Calif. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 24, at 10 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 350 Wabash Avenue, Redlands, Calif. Burial will be at the Riverside National Cemetery. It was his desire that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the LDS Church's Perpetual Education Fund at http://www.ldsphilanthropies.org/perpetual-education-fund/
