All persons donating to this site retain the rights to their own work. Source Unknown; Date Unknown Frank George Mayzak of Bear Valley Springs, formerly from Illinois, passed away Aug. 10. Frank served four years with the United States Army as a radar operator and was an expert marksman with the M-1 rifle. He received many honors while enlisted, including the Philippine Liberation Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the World War Two Victory Medal. Frank moved to Bear Valley Springs in August 1977 and became an accomplished golfer, winning the 1982 President's Cup Championship, among other events.
