The Downey Eagle November 16, 2001 Volume 9 Number 39 Community remembers Virginia Black McCully DOWNEY-Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, at First Presbyterian Church for Virginia Black McCully who was born Feb. 10, 1911 in Marshall, Missouri and died last Monday, Nov. 12, at her home in Downey at the age of 90. She was a teacher of English and music for 40 years - 30 years in the Midwest, and 10 years in the Paramount District. Preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Tyson McCully, she is survived by her younger sister, Audrey Black Stafford. A brother also died in 1983. The family requests no flowers. Miller-Mies Mortuary is handling the arrangements.
