Source Unknown; Date Unknown Marion McDonald; born February 17, 1914 in Cripple Creek, CO, passed away at her home in Mojave, CA on April 19, 2002. She grew up in Pasadena where she trained and worked at Meglin Kiddies Dance Studio. After moving to Mojave to open a dance studio for local children in the late 1930s, she met and married Joe McDonald, a local resident and graduate of Antelope Valley High School, who preceded her in death. In addition to dance instruction Marion taught preschool in Mojave, later worked with the Kern County Public Health nurses as a clerk typist and eventually opened a small yarn and knitting business in her home. She and Joe were active in the Mojave schools, Marion as a PTA president and Joe as a member of the Board of Trustees. She is survived by two daughters, Sue (Robert) Hughes of San Jose, CA and Patricia Berry of Palmdale, as well as four grandsons. Marion was a devoted mother and doting grandmother. The Rosary recited and mass held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Mojave on April 26, 2002 with interment at Mojave Cemetery.
