Meilly, long time resident of Mojave died Wednesday morning in the City of Hope Hospital at Los Angeles. He had been confined to the hospital for the past three weeks and his death occurred at 4 a.m. Mr. Meilly at one time operated the Texaco station at the corner of Shasta and J Street and also owned considerable rental property. He was a very good carpenter and built a large portion of the Elite Hotel as well as his own home and the rentals. He is survived by his wife. Josephine, a son John Jr., both of Mojave besides other relatives residing in Pennsylvania. Services will be held at the Zeller-Flanagan Funeral Home at 1316 Whittier Blvd. in Montebello at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 14th with interment in Evergreen Cemetery in Los Angeles.
