The Downey Eagle November 30, 2001 Volume 9 Number 41 Family, friends grieve for Vera Selina Menge DOWNEY-Funeral services were held Nov. 9 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church for Vera Selina Menge, a homemaker, educational aide and Cudahy resident who lived in California since 1949. She was 83, born Sept. 12, 1918 in Strum, Wisconsin, and died Nov. 5 in Pico Rivera. She was a former educational aide at Corona School in Bell, a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Downey, a Sunday school teacher at Zion Lutheran Church in Maywood, a member of the Altar Guild, and a Christian Growth Chairperson for the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. Survivors include three children, Karen Robertson, Marlin Menge and Larry Menge; and 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The Rev. James Poerschke officiated. Burial followed at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Whittier. Arrangements were by Miller Mies Mortuary.
