Source Unknown; Date Unknown November 26, 1925 � July 16, 2002 A graveside funeral service was held on Friday, July 19, 2002 at the Mojave Cemetery, East Kern District, in Mojave, CA for Mojave resident, James Raliegh Mettler, 76, who passed away at his home on July 16, 2002. James was born on November 26, 1925 in Curryville, Missouri to Raymond and Lillian Mettler. James served in the Navy during WW II. In February 1948 James married Norma Johnson. He lived in Mojave for 53 years. James worked for 38 years for the L.A. Dept. of Water and Power as an equipment operator. He retired in 1985 and thoroughly enjoyed his retirement. James loved to go fishing and hunting. He was a very family- oriented man who loved his family dearly. James is survived by his wife, Norma Mettler of Mojave; daughter, Susan Thompson of Mojave; son James Mettler of Lancaster, CA; grandchildren, Bonnie and Dale, great-grandchildren, Brittany and Colton; and brother, Gene Mettler of Lancaster. Wood Family Funeral Service handled the arrangements.
