Josiane Blance Michel was born in Menin, 
Belgium. She grew up during the World War II 
German occupation and met her first husband, 
Marcel DuMoulin, at the age of 17.
She moved to America, where she lived in 
Southern California and got married and started 
a family. Josiane learned English but always 
spoke with a heavy accent, even though she 
always insisted that she had none.
Josiane was a wonderful mother, wife and friend, 
often inviting those over for the holidays who 
had no family, always making them feel like part 
of her own.
Josiane became part of the Coast Guard 
Auxiliary and volunteered for Hospice, always 
trying to make others feel good, no matter how 
bad things seemed to be.
After a divorce, Josiane remarried several years 
later and moved to Tehachapi where she lived 
14-1/2 years with James Michel, touching many 
lives.
Josiane was diagnosed with breast cancer 12 
years ago. Even though she was in pain, she 
tried to never show it and always had a positive 
outlook on life.
She again became a volunteer for Hospice and 
helped out with Meals on Wheels, making many 
new friends and helping others where she could.
After losing her second husband, James Michel in 
2003, she moved to Arizona where she was 
cared for and loved by not only her son and his 
wife, but neighbors and acquaintances whose 
lives will forever be touched by her warmth, 
caring and humor.
Josiane is survived by her son, Roger DuMoulin 
and wife Emilie, four grandchildren and her 
adopted sons Pat, Phil and Mike Delbar, and her 
beloved dog Samson.
Josiane will never really be gone because those 
that have known her will forever remember her 
as a caring woman, wife, mother and friend. And 
that love she gave will never fade from their 
hearts.
