Miller mourned LAS VEGAS-Family memorial services will be held at a later date for Karl C. Miller, a former senior project engineer on the X-15, Mercury, Gemini and Apollo spacecraft and the B-1 bomber while he was with North American Aviation and Rockwell Industries in Downey, who died Oct. 30. He was 76, born and raised in Wellsville, Ohio, and graduated from Wellsville High School. He attended several colleges and held a business degree from West Coast University in Los Angeles. He lived in Las Vegas for the past 16 years, having retired after 25 years with North American and Rockwell. After his retirement he was involved in horse racing in California and intercollegiate athletics at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. He served as coach and youth sports commissioner for many years in the Downey Junior Athletic Association, and was on the City of Downey Tournament of Roses Parade Committee for 20 years, and oversaw the construction of the Rose Float. He was a Past Grand Master of the Hollandbeck Masonic Lodge of Los Angeles, and a member of the Norwalk Masonic Lodge 315 of Norwalk. He also served as a Marshall at the PGA tour events in Las Vegas. Survivors include his wife, Sue Miller of Las Vegas; four sons, Dave Miller of Marietta, Georgia, Ronald Miller of Hutchinson, Minnesota, Allan Miller of Charlestown, New Hampshire, George Miller of Park City, Utah; a daughter, Nancy Miller of Pico Rivera; a sister, Bernadine Connally of Agoura Hills; and five grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Marietta Kiwanis Foundation, P.O. Box 3191, Marietta, GA 30061.
