Mojave Desert News; 15 Jul 1948 Well Known Contractor Dies in Auto Accident Victim of an auto accident which occurred on the Barstow Hwy ten miles east of Mojave Saturday last at 5:40 p.m. when the pickup in which he was riding went out of control due to the soft shoulder, Benjamin Henry Morrin, well know contractor and partner in the firm of B & M Construction Co. of Los Angeles, died as a result of injuries sustained. The accident was investigated by Officer Loren Sanders of the California Highway Patrol. At the inquest held on Tuesday morning at the O'Donnell Funeral Home in Mojave, who had charge of the remains, the verdict was as given above. Benjamin Henry Morrin was born April 10, 1884, at Ogden Utah and was the husband of Julia M. Morrin who survives him. He is also survived by a son Jack K. of Salt Lake City, two daughters, Mrs. Arline Judd of Los Angeles and Miss Connie Morrin of Tonapah, Nev., a sister Mrs. Myrtle Faulkner of Clear Lake, Calif., and two brothers, Maurice of Ogden, Utah and Lawrence of San Leandro Calif. He was a member of the Masonic fraternity of Tonapah Lodge and the Consistory and Shrine of Reno. A Masonic funeral will be conducted on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Forest Lawn in the Wee Kirk 0' the Heather followed by cremation. Mr. Morrin's company were the erectors of the Dave Staley Motors Co., building in Mojave and also put in the finish work on the new French Cocktail Lounge and Cafe and at the time of his death had jobs going in Muroc at the Housing Project as well as at N.O.T.S. in Inyokern. The car was towed in by Buds Garage and the O'Donnell Funeral Home ambulance brought Mr. Morrin to the Mojave Hospital.
