Friends, family mourn Irene Laverne Muller
DOWNEY-Funeral services were held Saturday, July 18, at the First Baptist Church of Downey for 
Irene Laverne Muller, a Downey resident for 46 years and homemaker. 
She was 77, born May 23, 1921 in Albany, Oregon, and was a former resident of Huntington Park. 
She was active in the Christian Women's Club of Downey, and was preceded in death by her husband, 
Jean, in 1977. 
Survivors include her sons, Richard Muller of Downey, Donald Muller of Norco; a daughter, Janet 
Manchester of Placentia; brothers Rev. Leo Schlegel of Salem, Oregon, George Schlegel of Albany, 
Oregon; sisters Ollivene Glavin of Irving, Texas, Doris Harvey of Tustin; grandsons Nathan, Jeffrey, 
Erik, Christopher and Justin. 
The Rev. Leo Schlegel and Rev. Wade Olson officiated. Burial followed at Rose Hills Memorial Park. 
Arrangements were by the Downey Zrelak Family Mortuary.
