All persons donating to this site retain the rights to their own work. Source Unknown; Date Unknown William M. "Mike" Nash III, 69, of California City, died April 15, 2005, after a short illness. Born in Camden, New Jersey, Mike served his country as a combat cameraman in the Vietnam War. After leaving the military, Mike moved with his family to Fernley, Nevada, where he worked first as a journalist, then as a public information officer and manager for the State of Nevada. Mike retired from government work in 1987 to pursue a career in photography, opening a studio in Santa Monica and serving as a supervising photographer at Edwards Air Force Base. Mike moved to California City in 1994 and has since been a proud lifetime member of the VFW, lifetime member of the Marine Corps League and a member of the American Legion. Mike is survived by his wife Joanne of California City, son Steve of Houston, Texas, son Mike of Dickinson, North Dakota, daughter Sheena of Sacramento, and five grandchildren. A memorial service is planned for Wednesday, April 20, 2005, at the VFW Post in California City.
