Nelson mourned in Waukesha WAUKESHA, Wisconsin-There will be no public services for Everett L. Nelson, who died Oct. 6 at Avalon Manor. He was 90, a former member of the Norway Lutheran Church of Wind Lake, Wisconsin, and a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in South Gate. He was a chief petty officer of the U.S. Navy in World War II and Korea, and served on the heavy cruiser U.S.S. St. Paul. He retired as the assistant postmaster for the U.S. Postal Service in Waukesha after 46 years of service. He was the worthy Past President of the Grand Aerie of the Fraternal Order of Eagles-Waukesha No. 453, and served 40 years in the D.J. Martin Post No. 8, and was a lifelong member of the American Legion VFW Post 2325. He belonged to the Optimist Club of Waukesha, and was a Past President of the Optimist Club of Downey, as well as the Sons of Norway. Survivors include his sister, Florence Pearl Schulze of Waukesha, Wisconsin; nephews William (Sue) Schulze of Lockport, Ill., Lance (Judy) Schulze of Glendale, Wisconsin, and Robert Betker of Waukesha. He was preceded in death by his wife, Veronica; a sister, Sylvia Nelson; and a brother, Giles Nelson. Arrangements were by the Cesarz & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 419 E.
