Source Unknown; Date Unknown Mary Jean Nelson Jean was born January 3, 1930 in Lancaster, California and went to be with the Lord January 13, 2001. Her parents, Frank and Anna Faryewicz preceded her in death. Jean graduated from Antelope Valley High School and shortly thereafter married Thomas Nelson. The couple lived in Palmdale before moving to Mojave in 1964. Jean was an active community member. She was a lifetime PTA member, a past president of PTA, Jr. Women's Club member, a Girl Scout leader and Sunday School teacher. She worked on the Mojave Election Board. She taught preschool at the Mojave Baptist Church and was a member of Mojave Foursquare Church. Jean is survived by her husband of 52 years, Thomas; sister, Ruth and her husband Glen Thatcher, of Kerrville, Texas. She leaves three grown children; son Daniel and wife Donna, daughter Susan and husband Michael, and son John and wife Ten. Jean had seven grandchildren, Harris and wife Danyelle, Daniel, Jr. and wife Jennifer, Michael, Charlotte and husband Adam, Johnathan, Joseph and lan. Great joy was brought to her by her great- grandchildren, Andrew, Harris, and Shelbie. Viewing was at Stickel Mortuary on Wednesday, January 17, 2001 Funeral services will be today at 10 a.m. at the Mojave Crossroads Foursquare Church on Holt Street, followed by graveside services at Mojave Cemetery.
