Born in Guadalupe, Calif., on Sept. 27, 1920, John was a longtime resident of Big Bear Lake and was a former art teacher at Big Bear High School and San Bernardino Valley College extension program. He was a graduate of USC and received his Master's Degree from Redlands. John was a decorated WWII B17 bomber pilot. He enjoyed working with all types of art mediums including clay, wood and iron. He taught drawing and painting classes and was well known for his ceramic works.
