Source Unknown; 17 Apr 1940 Mojave Woman Instantly Killed Head On Collision Near Actis The instantaneous death of Mrs. Sylvester Oliver of Mojave Easter Sunday evening was the tragic climax of a head-on collision near Actis, south of Mojave. According to an inquest Tuesday presided over by Coroner N. E. Houze the fatal1ty resulted from the unexplained crash of a car driven by Mr. Oliver, the deceased's husband, and another occupied by Lewis Wallace of Burbank, Calif., a Lockheed Aircraft employee. Minor injuries were sustained by both men who were hospitalized at Mojave Hospital, where they are now convalescing. The body of the deceased is in care of the Mojave Funeral Chapel awaiting recovery of Mr. Oliver and either local funeral arrangements or shipment to relatives in Trenton, Mo. In addition to the widower, she is survived locally by her son and daughter-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Norman Nelson of Rosamond. NOTE: CADI No listing for Oliver or Nelson in 1941.
