All persons donating to this site retain the rights to their own work. Alameda Times-Star 7/23/2003 On January 15, 2003, succumbed to years of illness at the age of 65 in Brookings, Oregon. Born in Fremont to Alfred and Evelyn (Azevado) Peixoto, he grew up over the family business, The Irvington Meat Market, on Bay Street. In the 1950s he graduated from Washington High School, went on to learn the bakery trade, and served in the US Army. He worked as a baker for 38 years at Neldam's Danish Bakery in Oakland. He was a kind and gentle soul who is missed by brothers Marvin (Jean) and Delbert (Shirley) Peixoto. His loss is deeply felt by his nephews Marvin, Tom and Dan Peixoto and nieces Jo Ann (John) Coli and Julie (Ed) Iverson. He is also mourned by his great- nephews John and Joe Coli and great-nieces Sierra and Miranda Iverson. Family and friends are invited to attend a mass said in his honor on Saturday, July 26 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe (Fremont Blvd. site). A graveside service at Irvington Memorial Cemetery, 41001 Chapel Way, will immediately follow the Mass.
