Lifetime Resident Succumbs
Mabel E Phillips, 86, of Bridge Street Meridian, a lifetime resident of Sutter County area 
died Saturday night in Yuba City Convalescent Hospital. She was a member of the 
Meridian Garden Club and the Meridian Community Methodist Church. She is survived by 
two sons, Matt and Gordon Phillips, both of Yuba City: a brother, Newell Burtis of Tracy; 
two sisters, Verne Hall of Grimes and Vivian Warner of Ukiah; four grandchildren and 10 
great grandchildren. Rev H Earl Morris, pastor of the Meridian Community Methodist Church 
will officiate at services Wednesday at 2 pm. in Ullrey Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in 
Grand Island Cemetery in Colusa County.
