Graveside services for Mary Margaret Pleiss
DOWNEY-Graveside services were held at Rose Hills Memorial Park for Mary Margaret Pleiss, a longtime 
Downey resident and active member in the First Presbyterian Church of Downey. 
She was 80, a native of Carbondale, Illinois, and died in Whittier Feb. 8. She was a volunteer for the Heart 
Association and the Community Chest. 
Survivors include her son, James D. Strickland; her daughter, Valerie S. Higgins; a brother, Gail E. Mansbridge; 
sisters Ruth B. Wooldridge, Evelyn I. Jones; grandchildren James Dale, Jennifer, Leah, Jeff and Timothy; and 
14 great-grandchildren. 
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the Hospice House, 12401 Washington Blvd., Whittier, 
CA 90602.
