All persons donating to this site retain the rights to their own work. Source Unknown; 3 May 1945 DEATH CLAIMS ANOTHER PIONEER Word was received on Tuesday from Ranger, Texas, by Mr. J. B. Pruitt and wife, that his father J. W. Pruitt, had passed away. Mr. Pruitt had been ill for several years, and in the hospital, having had seven strokes of paralysis. He had lived in Texas most of his life. Many people in Mojave will remember him as he had visited here several times and had planned tanother visit here before he had his last relapse. He was a retired railroad employee of the Wichita Falls & Southern, R. R. Born on July 2, 1872, he would have been 74 years old this coming July. The family has been expe cting this news for sometime, but it is still a shock and a great loss to his family and many friends. He leaves six children and 12 grandchildren: Mrs. Arthur White, daughter, of White Face, Texas; Mrs. C. A. Felton, daughter, Pomona, Calif.; Hardin Pruitt, elder son, Ranger, Texas; Sam Pruitt,son, Wichita Falls, Texas; JoePruitt, son, Downey, Calif.; and J. B. Pruitt, son, Mojave, Calif J. B. Pruitt and family will be unable to attend the services. The interrment will be in Ranger, Texas, with the date as yet unspecified.
