CA resident, passed away on August 15. 2000 in Bakersfield, CA due to cancer chemotherapy complications. He was born on July 30. 1925 in Mojave. CA. George worked as a switchman-brakeman for Southern Pacific Railroad He served in the U.S. Army during World War II with the 321st Infantry Division in the Pacific Theatre. Decorations he received were the Asiatic/Pacific Theatre, Victory Medal. Good Conduct Medal, and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon w/Bronze Star. He was also a member of the first Japanese occupation forces. George founded the Sagebrush Youth Football League which is now the Mojave Youth Football League. He coached Mojave Little League baseball for many years and was a member of the Mojave High School football team's "chain gang" for 20 years. George loved God, family and country. His hobbies were fishing, taking in abandoned animals and following Mojave High School athletics. Survivors include his loving wife of 41 years. Mary Pulos of Mojave; George Pulos Jr. and his fianc�, Richelle Rogahn of Mojave, Pete Pulos and daughter-in-law Lori Pulos of Fresno, CA; brothers Chris Pulos and sister-in-law Josephine of Mojave, Pabb Pulos of Bakersfield, CA, Louis Pulos of Fresno, David Pulos of Fresno; sisters Mary McClanahan of Yountsville, Susan McMillen of Lewiston, Idaho, one grandchild and numerous nieces nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Petra Pulos and brothers Jimmy Pulos and Peter Pulos. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to In Memory of George Pulos, c/o Mary Pulos and The Ladies of St. Francis, Mojave. Services were held on August 18, 2000 at St. Francis Catholic Church by Father Leslie F. Shenoy with burial at East Kern Cemetery, Mojave. Pall bearers were George Pulos, Jr., Peter Pulos, Paul Carol, David Pulos, Louis Pulos, and Mark Flores. Honorary Pall Bearers were Reuben Flores, Gabe Flores and Gilbert Flores.
