	Entered peacefully into rest Monday, November 26, 2001 at his 
home in Fremont. Born June 8, 1908 in Duncan Mills, California, he was 
93 years old. A Fremont resident for 16 years and previously of Occidental 
&Oakland. He was an avid health enthusiast &body builder. He was the 
owner and Operator of General Appliance in Oakland &Television City in 
Hayward. John was a member of the Elks Lodge #2121 in Fremont and 
founder of the 101 Club in Santa Rosa. Beloved father of Arlene Chavez of 
Fremont. Loving grandfather of Steve Cruz of Fremont; Dave Cruz of Davis; 
Jerry Cruz of Fremont; Jon Cruz of Fremont and the late Kevin Cruz. 
Father-in-law of Charlie Chavez. Family and friends are invited to attend a 
Funeral Service Thursday, November 29, 2001 @ 12:00 P.M. with visitation 
from 10:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. held in the Chapel of Berge-Pappas-Smith 
Chapel of the Angels, 40842 Fremont Blvd. Private family burial will take place
