	Entered into rest at home in Veneta, Oregon on January 2, 2004; 
she was 75. She was born June 8, 1928 in Fuenterrabia, Spain. She met 
Arne Helge Rasmussen in France; they were married in 1960, and 
immigrated to the United States soon after. The couple lived in Fremont for 
over 40 years. Arne preceded her in death in 1998. Maria was active 
serving her parish community in a variety of capacities. She enjoyed playing 
with her grandchildren, reading, listening to music, knitting, and helping 
others. She is survived by her children, Marie-Anne Peringer and Helene 
Cramsey, both of Oregon, four grandchildren, four brothers, and two sisters. 
She touched everyone with her generosity and compassion, and leaves 
behind innumerable beloved friends who will miss her. Family and friends are 
invited to attend Funeral Services on Friday, January 9, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. in 
Berge-Pappas-Smith Chapel of the Angels, 40842 Fremont Blvd., Fremont, with 
a procession to Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish (formerly St. Leonard Parish), 
40382 Fremont Blvd., Fremont, for a Mass of Resurrection at 11:00 a.m. 
Interment will follow at Irvington Memorial Cemetery. There will be a visitation 
from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 8, 2004 with a Vigil at 7:00 p.m. at 
the mortuary. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American 
Cancer Society.
