CODA WILSON REYNOLDS, 81 Posted: 01/12/2009 06:46:45 PM PST Coda Wilson Reynolds, 81, was born in San Antono, Texas on Feb. 24, 1927, and left to be with her Heavenly Father on Dec. 17, 2008. Coda W. Reynolds graduated Redlands High School in 1944 and the University of Redlands with a degree in psychology in 1948. She was a member of Alpha Theta Phi sorority. She married F. Wayland Reynolds June 10, 1947 and shared a loving marriage for 61 years. Though a disabling stroke severely impacted the last 11 years of their lives together, their union was an inspiration to all who knew them. Coda and Wayland together raised six children to adult hood in a loving home. After this devotion to raising her children, she was employed by the Redlands Unified School District to teach in the Independent Studies Program (RISE). She taught in that program for eleven years. She then taught part- time in the Independent Study Program at Yucaipa High School for two years. Coda was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Redlands 5th ward. Coda was the only daughter of Col. William B. Wilson M.D. and Coda Lawler Wilson, both deceased. Her son Gregory W. also preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband Wayland Reynolds, her only brother Col. William B. Wilson Ret. M.D. and his wife Sue of CO, sons: Lt. Cmdr. William W. (Navy ret.) and wife Sharon of Truckee, CA, children: William Jr., Debra and Tommy, Robert Y. (Social Security Administrator) and wife Diane of Cathedral City, CA, children: Sean, Kristen, and Kyle: Capt. Richard A. (Coast Guard ret.) and wife Sheila of Redlands, CA, children: Kirk and Lindsey; Thomas S. (teacher) and wife Marie of Redlands, CA, children: Jimmy, Wade, Laura and Brad; and daughter Coda E. (Nurse Practitioner) of Anaconda, MT, children: Alex and Coda. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A memorial service is planned for January 24 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ward house at 640 S. Center Street in Redlands. In lieu of flowers, remembrance donations may be made to a charity of your choosing.
