"Big Bear Grizzly"; Date Unknown Wilbur Hambright "Toe" Roller, 97, passed on Jan. 26, 2005, at the California Christian Home in Rosemead. He was born in Los Angeles on July 6, 1907. Wilbur married Lourine Waite on June 22, 1935. They enjoyed 68 years of marriage before she died in 2003. They built their home in Los Angeles where they lived for 35 years and raised their family. He earned his living as a sausage maker for the Union Packing Company. In 1972 they retired to their cabin in Big Bear City where they resided for 25 years. They were active in the Seniors Club, the Historical Society and helped create the Big Bear City Historical Museum. Wilbur was an accomplished handyman and found great joy in working on his cabin. He could fix anything. He loved to do the painting, paneling and rock work. He also enjoyed fishing, camping and hiking in the forest. Wilbur is survived by his children: Don and Carolyn McBride of Pasadena; Terry and Betty Roller of Lakeside; grandchildren Ken McBride, Jennifer and Jim Hogan, Toni and Jason Tholen, Todd Roller and great grandchildren, Daniel and Rebecca Hogan, Jamie, Tanner and Jessi Tholen.
