The Downey Eagle June 19, 1998 Volume 6 Number 17 Jack Duane Rounds remembered by many SPENCER, Idaho-Jack Duane Rounds, a former Downey resident for more than 20 years and the owner of several retail automotive shops in Southern California, died May 21 near Spencer, Idaho, of injuries sustained in a plane crash. He was 67, born in Peabody, S.D., Dec. 2, 1930. He married Linda Lee Atwood on July 21, 1959 in Mitchell, Ind. He raced at the Indianapolis Indy 500 for many seasons. He was an amateur fighter and skydiver, and piloted and built numerous aircraft. He loved camping and fishing in the Cache Valley. Survivors include wife, Linda; his son, Jeff; daughters Lori of Hyde Park and Bec and Merlyn of Southern California; grandchildren Dylan, Justin, Kadie, Bronson, Jessica and Kris; a brother, Robert Rounds of San Diego; four stepbrothers and two stepsisters. Memorial services were held May 26 in the Cranney Mortuary Chapel in Logan, Idaho.
