Published: 04 Jul 2002 Anita Coy Schellin of California City, CA passed away on June 24, 2002, at Antelope Valley Hospital in Lancaster, CA. Anita was born on March 16, 1930 in Waco, TX. She worked as a waitress, Avon lady and was a member of the American Legion Post 476, in California City. Anita was predeceased by her husband, Charles Schellin, in 1992, and son Eugene Riley in 1999. She is survived by her loving children, Mary Ann Mott of Elko, NV, Henry Weaver of Palmdale, CA, Brenda Purvis of Chatsworth, CA, Kathy Ford of Huntsville, TX, Steve Weaver of California City. CA, Charles Riley of Texas, Gilbert Schellin of Navarre, FL, Vera Lee Schellin of Middleburg, FL, 18 grandchildren, and 22 greatgrandchildren. Anita was always known for her complete faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, her unwavering devotion to her children and their families, her constant determination to extend a helping hand to anyone in need regardless of her own personal situation, and her unfeigned love for all of mankind. Services were officiated by son Gilbert Schellin on June 28,2002 at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in California. Burial immediately followed at the California City Cemetery.
