Kristen Lee Kuuipo Scherer, 28, of La Mesa died Thursday. She was born in 
Riverhead, N.Y., and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Karl E. Scherer; son, Justin Lee 
Kekuhaupio; parents, Elizabeth M. and James C. Bartels of Las Vegas; and 
brothers, Daniel K., Gregory K. and William K. Bartels, all of San Diego.
Visitation: 4 to 9 p.m. today, Clairemont Mortuary, 4266 Mount Abernathy 
Ave., San Diego. Services: 10 a.m. tomorrow at the mortuary.
