Born June 28, 1924, in Los Angeles, Calif., Ellie was very active in her community while residing in Rossmoor, Los Alamitos. She was involved with the Rossmoor Women's Club, where she would play the piano and many other instruments for all their shows. In 1967, she was named winner of a Phyllis Diller look-a-like contest and the proceeds went for baseball equipment for the Little League and a musical scholarship. Ellie was also a board member of the Los Alamitos Little League baseball. In 1982, moving to Big Bear Lake, Calif., and opening her own knit shop, "Ellie's Stitchery" was something she really enjoyed while spending time with her "mountain friends." She was always volunteering for whatever she could. Her musical talent and loving, giving soul will be missed by her family and friends.
