Shoop, 70 DOWNEY-A Funeral Mass was heard Wednesday, Nov. 13, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church for Josephine O. Shoop, a resident of Downey for 45 years, who died Nov. 9 at Kaiser Hospital in Bellflower. Born in Lansford, Pennsylvania Dec. 14, 1925, she was 70, and formerly worked as an accounting clerk for Zackey Foods, Inc., for 10 years. Survivors include her husband, James R. Shoop of Downey; a son, Richard Shoop of Hacienda Heights; daughters Jamie Bray of Visalia and Karen Shoop of Long Beach; brothers Charles Olsefsky of Northridge and Edward Olsefsky of Redding; and three grandchildren. Reverend Father John Moloney officiated. Burial followed at All Souls Cemetery. Arrangements were by the Downey Zrelak Family Mortuary of Downey. The family suggests contributions to the Maryvale Home for Abused Children.
