Doris was honored with a street named for her. Over the years, Doris received many awards and she was active at the Community Church of California City. In 1996, Doris was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease and moved to her daughter's home in West Covina. Doris died peacefully on Tuesday morning, September 26 (2000).
