Services held for Robert Daniel Smith
BELL GARDENS-Services were held April 27 at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside for Robert 
Daniel Smith, a 33 year resident of Bell Gardens, who died April 19 at Downey Community Hospital. 
He was 78, born in Piqua, Ohio, and had been retired since 1985. 
He was a member of the A.M.E. (Cyrena) of Piqua, Ohio, and served in the U.S. Army from 1941-43. 
Survivors include his brothers, Arthur B. Smith Jr., of Springfield, Massachusetts, Richard Lee Smith of 
Upland; a sister, Lela S. Clease of Los Angeles; 12 nieces and nephews, many great nieces and nephews, 
and numerous cousins. 
He was preceded in death by eight brothers and three sisters. 
The Rev. William Carter officiated. Burial was at Riverside National Cemetery. Arrangements were by 
the Miller-Mies Mortuary of Downey.
