In her early years the family home was in Anaheim, Calif. Vivian remembers going to buy berries and vegetables from a roadside stand, before it was the Knott's Berry Farm entertainment park. In 1926, the family moved to Big Bear Lake for summers. Vivian's father, Herman (Pat) Frahm owned a riding academy amd rented horses to the tourists. His horses were used in many movies, including "Trail of the Lonesome Pine." Vivian was the oldest of five children. She and her siblings began and ended each school year in Big Bear Lake, but in mid-winter they lived in Anaheim, El Monte, Brea, Lucerne Valley and Palm Springs where the weather was better for their horses. She and her husband Jack both graduated from Big Bear High School in 1936 and married that same summer. After many years in the arcade business in Big Bear, they began Spencer Real Estate and were pioneers in the development of many subdivisions in the valley. After moving to Redlands, she established Spencer Realty and operated her business until her retirement. She was a longtime member of the Redlands Chapter of American Business Women's Association and a charter member of Big Bear Lake Emblem Club. She is survived by daughter Lorraine Evans of Redlands, grandson Jack Evans (Linda) of Redlands, granddaughter Jill Burnett (Mark) of Big Bear Lake, and six great-grandsons. Per her request, the family will have a private memorial. She will be greatly missed and remembered with loving thoughts.
