Retired Switchman passes at Mojave
The body of Edward Eugene Stearns, 61, retired Southern Pacific railroad switchman 
and resident of Mojave for 35 years prior to his death here Tuesday, November 12, at 
7:30 p. m., was sent to West Union, Iowa, Thursday night of last week for funeral 
services and Interment. Mr. Steams was a native of Iowa and has surviving brothers 
and sisters in West Union. A sister, Mrs. Mattie Finke, resides in Los Angeles. The 
Mojave Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
