Lucille Margaret Steele Christian burial held
DOWNEY-A Mass of Christian Burial was heard Wednesday, Dec. 15, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help 
Catholic Church for Lucille Margaret Steele, a 59-year Downey resident and a charter member and 
past president of the Assistance League of Downey. 
She was born in Hanna, Wyoming Sept. 20, 1911, and died at the Downey Community Health Center 
Dec. 10. 
She married Clayton Steele Feb. 24, 1934. 
She was a founder of the Assisteens, and a member of the Women's Guild of Our Lady of Perpetual 
Help Church, also helped with the Parish School. 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton; a son, Chuck; and a grandson, Brett Wismer. 
Survivors include her daughter, Judy Wismer; grandsons Brian and Bruce; sisters Barbara White and 
Darlene Engler; and cousins Mary K. Erickson and Shirley Adams. 
Burial followed at All Souls Cemetery in Long Beach. Arrangements were by the Downey Zrelak 
Family Mortuary.
