Source Unknown; Date Unknown Glenn Warren Stevenson of California City, CA passed away on February 12, 2002, in a North Hollywood hospital from complications of Parkinson's disease. He was born in Cleveland, OH on December 8, 1919, the son of George J. and Clara (nee Bartlett) Stevenson. He grew up in Richmond Heights, OH graduating from Fenn College with a degree in business administration. He moved to Los Angeles, C A in 1954. He became an executive with the Frank W. Birely Company retiring in the 1960s. He was an executive with Morris Industries until his final retirement in 1975. Glenn had worked as a salesman for the developers of California City and bought a home there in 1962, com- muting to Los Angeles during the week. He was also known for his column 'Some History' which appeared in the Mojave Desert News for many years. He also wrote a weekly column for California City Senior Citizens. Glenn had been an active member of the Sierra Club, climbing 20 mountain peaks with the club, often being the leader of the climb. More recently, he had been an active member of the California City Seniors and the East Kern Historical Society to which he had been a large contributor of memorabilia. An enthusiastic student of history and nature, he often led bird walks around the lake and golf course. He also greatly enjoyed attending the annual Death Valley Encampment of the Forty-Niners. Glenn leaves many friends in California City as he joins his parents and his brother, Donald M. Stevenson. He is survived by his nieces Janet Stevenson and Nancy Janoch of Michigan and Susan Tessa of Ohio and his beloved cousin, whom he called "sister,'' Esther C. Norbut, her husband Donald and their children, Commander Gerald w. Norbut, USN (Doreen) and Nancy (Jeff) Hole. Services will be held at Stickel Mortuary in Mojave, CA on February 22, 2002, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the East Kern Historical Museum Society in his name.
