Source Unknown; Date Unknown A memorial service was held Saturday, October 3 in the Community Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, for Dorothy Ann Stewart, 80, who passed away in Bakersfield on September 26. Mrs. Stewart was born July 7, 1918 in Corpus Christi, Texas to her parents, C.B. and Gabriella Kirk. She moved to Tehachapi in 1954 and will be remembered by so many because of her 20 years as the librarian at the Kern County Library in Tehachapi. Formerly she was quite active in the Community Church and enjoyed teaching a Sunday school class there. She was a member of the Tehachapi Hospital Guild and because of her real love and enjoyment of children, she chose to work in the toy room of the guild. Mrs. Stewart loved the beach and during the spring she enjoyed going on rides to see the many wildflowers in bloom. The family has requested that those desiring to make a donation in her memory may contribute to the memorial fund at Community Congregational Church, 100 East E Street, Tehachapi. Mrs. Stewart is survived by her son, Kirk Stewart and his wife, Pat of Tehachapi; daughter, Nancy Zugates and husband, Don of Arizona; six grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Stewart. Wood Family Funeral Service handled the cremation arrangements. NOTE: Photo At: http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~cagha/index.htmphotos/kern/
